Staffordshire is working in a more localised and co-ordinated way to ensure families receive the right help at the right time. Families First is a new way of working that brings together the full range of front- line services that deliver to children, young people or their families. Our children’s social work teams are a vital part of the new Families First Service, which, by investing in early intervention, frees the time of qualified social work professionals to support the most vulnerable families in the county.
We have 18 Safeguarding Units in Staffordshire and they provide specialist services for children and young people with acute needs including situations where there are child protection concerns.
You will be a qualified Social Worker, ideally with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience. Your caseload will include the undertaking of Initial Visits, Child Social Work Assessments and S47 enquiries, the management of child in need and child protection plans and direct work with children. Making sure you are well supported and given the opportunity to develop and progress is a high priority at Staffordshire and is very important to us. We have excellent staff development programme and good practice is recognised and rewarded.
