Job title: Residential Night Worker
Salary: £22,183 -£25,481 per annum pro rata (which includes 2SCP for unsociable hours)
Location: The Firs, Stafford
Contract & Working pattern: Permanent I 1 x 20 hours per week & 2 x 30 hours per week
About The Firs
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work in a brand-new Children’s Home provision in Stafford. The Firs is a small residential home which will provide medium to long term residential support for up to 3 young people aged 11 – 18 years old. It will be a family centred environment that supports, nurtures and cares for young people giving them opportunities to learn, progress and explore new activities and ventures.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity for right person to join a new team to deliver a high-quality service.
You’ll be committed and motivated to support the young people during the night. The role can be both challenging and rewarding and will require a high level of resilience.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be able to be flexible to the needs of the service and you must have NVQ/QCF level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent. Ideally, you’ll have experience in working in a residential setting although this isn’t essential. And you’ll need to hold a full driving licence.

Please note on occasion in residential care there is a need to only accept applicants from a particular protected characteristic. As per the exceptions under the Equality Act 2010 there is an occupational requirement for this role to be fulfilled by someone aged 22 years or over. The reason being that we are legally required to ensure that anyone appointed is at least 4 years older than our oldest resident.
