If you’re driven to succeed and want to have plenty of personal impact, this is the role for you. Take pride – and take us forward.
What you’ll do
To have a positive impact on Staffordshire’s communities, we need people who share our pride, values and vision to join our teams. And as our Resourcing Adviser, you’ll play a big part in making that happen. Working collaboratively across the Council, you’ll think up innovative and engaging recruitment solutions that help us to attract the very best candidates. It’ll see you get involved in lots of different things, from delivering long-term recruitment campaigns to recruiting for temporary positions to advising on assessment methods.
Conscientious and attentive: that’s you. You’ll make sure our campaigns are always in line with our employer brand – including scoping, advertising, selection and onboarding. Looking ahead, you’ll also help us to introduce Apprentice roles into the organisation, developing a creative attraction campaign that encourages the right people to apply. And while you’re doing all this, you won’t forget the importance of producing accurate and timely resourcing reports.
As someone who’s a natural at collaboration, you’ll actively seek out colleagues’ thoughts and opinions on your projects. You’ll engage with managers across the Council, working with them to identify ways we could minimise cost and time to recruit. It’s this attention to detail that will help you spot opportunities all around the organisation, whether that’s reducing the amount we spend on agency workers or using competitor analysis to shape our recruitment strategy.
By providing advice and guidance on the whole recruitment process, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety in your role – such as conducting fair and objective assessments, direct sourcing, writing advert text and creating interview content. It also means you’ll seamlessly link up with the Learning and Development team to build an engaging onboarding process, and make sure any internal moves happen in a proactive, positive way. Externally, you’ll build strong working relationships with job boards, LinkedIn, recruitment agencies and social media resources to make sure our campaigns have maximum impact and success.
As a Council, we need to provide an accountable, responsible service that works with and builds the trust of people across Staffordshire. You’ll work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that happens, meeting exceptionally high standards to provide a reliable and transparent service every time.
Ultimately though, we can only encourage accountability if we’re accountable ourselves. That’s why you’ll embody our values in everything you do across the organisation. You’ll be courageous in how you approach your work, ready to challenge the way things are done so that we can improve our processes.
