Senior Engineer - Sustainable Development
Salary: £42,821 - £46,845 per annum (pro rata)
37 Hours per week – Permanent
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated professional as the council’s new Senior Engineer of Sustainable Development, responsible to the Head of Sustainable Development within the Economy, Instructure and Skills Directorate.
This is a key role as a member of the council’s retained structure, helping to influence strategy, policy and deliver highway infrastructure development and improvement through our Infrastructure+ Partnership with our service provider Amey and other public, private and 3rd sector organizations in support of delivery of these strategies and policies.
The successful applicant should have significant highway contract experience in a wide range of schemes including major improvement projects, developer highway projects within a non-routine and complex environment from inception through to construction to financial completion and manage all set performance targets. Experience and knowledge in Local Transport Plan initiatives and transport strategies would be an advantage.
You should also be experienced at challenging the status quo and using your influencing and negotiating skills to achieve required outcomes.
Your personal style and approach should be positive, proactive and engaging to people at all levels. You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to quickly build credible relationships within Infrastructure+ and with external organisations.
